Vaccination Policy
At Bay Haven Pediatrics, we maintain a strong commitment to vaccination as a cornerstone of pediatric health.
Our practice follows the immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), as it is carefully designed to provide the safest and most effective protection against preventable diseases. Vaccines offer the greatest benefit when administered at the recommended ages, intervals, and sequence.
For this reason, we strongly discourage alternative or delayed vaccine schedules and are unable to accept patients who decline routine immunizations. The AAP schedule is evidence-based and developed through rigorous scientific review. Altering the schedule can result in unnecessary delays in protection, increased risk of errors, and underimmunization, leaving children vulnerable to preventable illnesses at an age when they are most at risk. Our vaccine recommendations are applied consistently to all patients, unless a specific medical condition requires an adjustment.
Ensuring that children are fully and appropriately immunized is a primary mission of our practice. We stand firmly behind the safety, effectiveness, and extensive scientific support for today’s vaccines. We are committed to partnering with families by providing clear information and addressing questions or concerns with openness and respect. At the same time, we emphasize the essential role of timely vaccination in protecting every child in our care.
We hope this statement offers reassurance to our families. Our goal is to safeguard your child’s health, as well as the health of other children in our office and throughout our community. Protecting children from preventable diseases remains one of our highest priorities — for your family and for the broader community we serve.
